There are two main ways to be effective.
One it with a lot of activity and movement. Like Justin & Max going bananas:
And the other is using the right tool for the right job. Like Pereira’s left hook vs. Hill:
We should strive for the more elegant and simple approach.
For example: an email that looks like the one on the left will not get read and responded to as quickly as the one on the right:

Simplify.
In Jiu-Jitsu we overcomplicate things, when often you can just stand up.
Or when asking for something, I used to think I need to front load the ask with all the reasons why. Now, I cut to the chase, ask the question, let silence do the work, and answer questions as needed.
I’ve found in all these situations (and more) that doing less gets more done.
Once you’ve been playing a game for a while a good question to ask is: “how can I simplify?”
