If you are interested in living a balanced life – if you consider yourself part scholar-monk, and part spartan – this site is for you. The focus is on philosophy, fitness, and personal finance.
A little more about me…
Born & raised in a blue-collar family with an older brother and younger sister.
I played football and ran track. Researching injuries that I got from these sports led me down a wormhole of rehab and self-help in the late 2000s. This was the beginning of my love for reading, strength and conditioning, and taking ownership of my life.
I went to the University of Delaware, and have since done various programs at University of Richmond, Harvard (HBX), and Seth Godin’s Akimbo workshops (AltMBA). These have been great, but my most important education has come from books and experiences; books are my real alma mater. All of my professional experience can be found on LinkedIn here.
I started this blog in 2018 as a way to become a better thinker, writer, and to share ideas. My hobbies today include: reading books, writing a blog post here once a week, fighting gravity daily, training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and going camping a few times a year. My posts on this blog are an alchemy of reflections connecting the dots across disciplines. In 2019 I co-authored a book with my friend Nick Slavtcheff, it’s called The Path, and you can find it here.
