Pessimists sound smart.
So they get airtime.
People listen. People imitate.
But pessimists don’t win.
Here’s the problem:
Pessimists don’t get anything done.
The pessimist gets burned twice. Not only are they less likely to have ideas on how to improve things. They are less likely to get opportunities passed their way by others because of a “can’t do” attitude.
What the world needs more of is rational optimists.
Rational in the sense that you see things clearly
Optimistic that the world is a malleable place. That there are some things within your locus of control that are worth focusing on.
