Kevin’s Q4 2024 Reading List

I hope this finds you relaxed after the holidays and ready for the new year.

If you’re looking for a good book to start your year, consider the list below – or later this week I’ll publish my favorites from 2024.

4 Books From Q4 2024 Quarter

  • The Comfort Crisis by Michael Ester was my favorite read this quarter. A critique of our modern existence, it will leave you inspired to do something hard. I happened to be reading it during my annual camping trip this fall. Perfect Timing.
  • Code Breakers by Walter Isaacson profiles Jennifer Duodna (and others) as they discover what may be the most significant biological breakthrough in our lifetime: CRISPR gene editing. The implications of this will be profound. Getting the full view of this is informative, and fun to brush up on biology.
  • Elon Musk by Walter Isaacson profiles…Elon Musk. Love him or hate him, he will likely go down as one of the most significant figures in our lifetime. Similar to why I read “The Founders” last quarter, I wanted to get a better understanding of the character without the headlines.
  • A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens was published in 1843. It is still very readable almost 200 years later. I picked it up after listening to “Becoming The Main Character” published a podcast episode on it last week (great podcast, by the way…deep dives on fiction). Dickens was a master of his craft. The opening paragraphs alone should be studied by any writer.

That’s the list!
